Students, Darren Doherty, Terry Mc Elvaney and Christopher Mc Kenna represented St. Macartan's, their clubs and Monaghan with distinction, at the All Ireland Handball Championships held throughout the midlands this weekend.

Darren was successful in winning the Junior Singles final against his Clare opponent and friend, Ciaran Crehan. Ciaran and Darren were doubles partners in the world championship in the U.S. last year. The final score was 21-10 and 21-20.

Defending champions, Christopher and Terry played  Roscommon in the Intermediate Doubles Final and despite playing some excellent handball, could not overcome the home team. They finished with the silver medal.
