A very pleasant gathering of the school community took place in the Sportshall to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Macartan. Bishop Joseph Duffy officiated at a very pleasant Mass, while Rev. Dermot Harkin, college chaplain, gave a warm and heartening homily. Various musicians performed appropriate instrumental pieces and the college choir sang some lovely uplifting songs.

Afterwards the First Year Classes, their Tutors and Year Head assembled on the front lawns of the school to plant some native Irish trees in commemmoration of  the day.
