Rapid Reaction Ambulance Service

Two members of the service visited the school to discuss the service they provide and demonstrate the equipment  that they use in emergency situations.

Civil Defence

Manoeuvres with the Civil Defence under the guidance of Mr. Ciaran Cahill with the Boating Division on Lough Muckno, Castleblayney.

Go Karting

Thirty students practised their driving skills at the go-karting centre in Newry, Co. Down in December. The gold cup was won by Ryan Mc Kenna, in second place was Lorcan Murphy and in third place was Matthew Mc Cabe. It was a very enjoyable outing

Civil Defence

This years Transition Year "Staying Alive" module has seen the group attend a Civil Defence presentation, a presentation by Monaghan Fire Service, a presentation by the Gardai on Safe Driving. They have also attended a Civil Defence training programme at Lough Muckno. The events have been co-ordinated by their teacher Ms. Derbhil Brady.

Fire  Safety 07-08

Ms. D. Brady's Staying Alive module group were given a talk on fire safety in the home, at school and in the community by members of the Monaghan Fire Authority.
