School Doubles League
There were 13 teams in the recent doubles league and the top four played off against each other. In the first semi final Jack Brogan and Colin Todd played Terry Mc Elvaney and Nicholas Telepa. The standard of play was excellent and this exciting match went to the third and deciding set where Terry’s team won by 21 points to 16. In the second match Shane Owens and Conall O Rourke played Brendan Mc Quaid and Mateusz Mastevnak. The Owens, O’ Rourke partnership proved too strong for Mc Quaid and Mastevnak and they progressed to the final.
There was an enthusiastic group of spectators in the Sportshall to watch the final. It was an exciting match with some exceptional play from both sides but in the end a delighted Mc Elvaney, Telepa team emerged victorius.
In the playoff for third place the strong partnership of Brogan and Todd won in two sets.Practice as if you are the worst, perform as if you are the best.
